Abstract

Mainly studied from a formal point of view, Slovenian architecture at the end of the twentieth century has so far been little investigated in relation to the socioeconomic context of the Treaty of Osimo (1975). This contribution analyzes the events of the ‘Kras’ architects’ group, embedding their works from 1977 to 1983 within the story of the self-managed company ‘Kraški zidar’ for which they worked. Through the cross-reading of the company’s magazine, of Slovenian newspapers, of the private archive of the architect Marko Dekleva and by studying Yugoslav and Italian historiographical sources, an attempt is made to shed light on the impact of the Osimo agreements on architecture, framing it as part of a broader reorganisation of the construction sector in Yugoslavia.
