Abstract

The present study of mansion complexes was conducted in Poland, in the Tuchola district, which has not been covered by this type of analysis so far. The aim of the research was to identify and characterise the historic mansion complexes in the region. The research work was based on mapping historical documents and digital spatial analysis. The survey identified fifty-four sites with varying locations, characteristics and state of preservation. A significant disparity in the number of occurrences was found between palaces and manors. In addition, it was noted that there is a lack of action to preserve these historic complexes in their traditional form. It was pointed out that some of the facilities need to be addressed to restore them to their former glory.
