Abstract

The papers in this Policy Symposium were originally presented at a Workshop on Privatization and Public Enterprise Reform in Developing Countries, organized by the Institute for Development Policy and Management (IDPM), University of Manchester, and the Development and Project Planning Centre (DPPC), University of Bradford, in June 1996. The Workshop was a component of an ongoing research project on privatization in the Asia region, directed by Colin Kirkpatrick and Paul Cook, and funded by the British Academy. Financial support from the British Academy, IDPM and DPPC for the Workshop, is gratefully acknowledged.
