Cost information needs for Brazilian local politicians’ decision-making

Abstract

The authors demonstrate how local politicians can more effectively utilize cost information. By identifying the types of decisions that can be guided by cost information, this article offers an up-to-date and detailed framework for understanding the application of cost information in local governments. The authors provide tested and practical guidance to politicians and managers on how to strategically use this information to achieve organizational goals.
