Debate: Reflections on PMM Live! 2024

Abstract

PMM Live! 2024 (the 10th PMM Live!) was on ‘AI and accounting in the public sector’ and was held on 13 November 2024 in the House of Lords. The speakers were Helen Margetts (Professor of Society and the Internet at the University of Oxford), Ruth Kelly (Chief Analyst at the National Audit Office), David Lyford-Tilley (CIPFA’s Head of Standards and Technical) and Pawan Adhikari (Professor of Accounting at Essex Business School and the Director of the Essex Accounting Centre, University of Essex). Lord Bichard chaired and Andreas Bergmann summed up. Attendees were from the UK, the USA, Greece, Italy, Ireland and Portugal.
