Abstract

This study utilizes 2008–2023 Chinese A-share data to evaluate how regional carbon neutral technology innovation impacts corporate green transition risk. The results show that regional carbon neutral technology innovation markedly lowers corporate green transition risk, with carbon capture, storage, and utilization technologies – represented by Y02C patents – playing the most prominent role in mitigating such risks. Moreover, sci-tech finance through multi-agent support from governments, firms, and institutions amplifies the mitigating effect. This study contributes to the literature on the interplay between technology finance and technological innovation by providing a novel theoretical perspective.
