Impact of Green Purchasing Practices on Performance of Sugar Manufacturing Firms in Western Region Kenya

Abstract

Purpose: Green purchasing practices do not significantly impact performance of sugar manufacturing firms in Western region Kenya.Design: This research adopted pragmatism research philosophy. The research utilized both descriptive and causal designs. The target people were the 152 procurement staffs so census was adopted. Through structured questionnaire and interview schedule primary data were achieved. Rift Valley Sugar Company conducted the pilot study. We adopted construct, face, and content validity and reliability focused on cronbach alpha. Descriptive and inferential statistics were utilised to analyse data.Findings: The study reported a positive significant relationship between green purchasing practices and performance of sugar manufacturing firms in Western region Kenya was positive and significant (β =0.925, p =0.000).Value: The management of sugar manufacturing firms should monitor the implementation of green purchasing practices.
