Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der neu gewählte Präsident Macron muss die französische Volkswirtschaft reformieren, um durch eine gesteigerte Wettbewerbsfähigkeit die Arbeitslosigkeit zu verringern und der französischen Bevölkerung eine Perspektive für eine wirtschaftlich bessere Zukunft zu eröffnen. Deutschland hat ein großes Interesse daran, dass dies gelingt. Die beste deutsche Unterstützung für den französischen Reformkurs besteht darin, den europäischen Integrationskurs gestützt auf das Prinzip der Subsidiarität voranzutreiben. Mit einer wohl austarierten Balance zwischen Eigenverantwortung und gemeinschaftlichem Handeln und mit der richtigen Abfolge von Reformschritten kann dies gelingen.
