Abstract

Zusammenfassung Mit der neuen Präsidentschaft in den USA sind Richtungswechsel auf verschiedenen Gebieten verbunden: Prominent ist dabei die Handelspolitik, die durch Strafzölle, aber auch durch die importbelastende Cashflow-Steuer mit Grenzausgleich und einen schwachen US-Dollar der heimischen Industrie Wettbewerbsvorteile verschaffen soll. Multilaterale Regeln im internationalen Handel werden missachtet und Abkommen sollen bilateral neu verhandelt werden. Inwieweit diese Strategie durchsetzbar ist und welche Folgen sie für den Welthandel hat, lässt sich noch nicht abschließend sagen. Geplant sind darüber hinaus ein umfassendes Infrastrukturprogramm und Steuersenkungen mit möglichen massiven Budgetdefiziten. Auf dem Finanzmarkt soll die Kreditvergabe durch ein Aufweichen strikter Regeln erleichtert werden.
