Abstract

To ensure the high-reliability of the Aero-engine Hydraulic Mechanical Unit (AHMU) over its entire service-life while maintenance cost is within budget, a multi-mission condition-based selective maintenance (CBSM) policy within a finite time horizon is proposed in this paper. Different from previous studies on selective maintenance, component characteristics are considered as maintenance factors in the CBSM policy. According to the factors, a maintenance priority matrix is conducted by the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution and Analytic Hierarchy Process (TOPSIS-AHP) method, which is used as a basis for selecting the optimal maintenance subset. The optimization design of the CBSM aims at finding the optimal task objectives (the number of maintenance, interruption time and subset) to maximize average reliability with constraints of system reliability threshold and budget. A Two-Steps Optimization Algorithm is proposed to implement the optimization process. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the optimal decision-making process of AHMU and show the validity of the proposed policy. Indeed, the proposed CBSM policy provides more flexibility in drawing up a reasonable maintenance schedule for AHMU when compared with existing policy.
