Abstract

Proposed research activity explores the various types of error source and uncertainty involved during the experimental measurements of a standard double ridge horn antenna gain. An accurate gain has been reported for the wideband double-ridged horn antenna which can work for 1–18 GHz frequency range and compared with the experimentally measured gain results. A thorough attempt has been done for the uncertainty estimation due to various error components involved during horn antenna gain measurement using two antenna measurement setup. Proposed measurement setup was established under antenna testing and measurement laboratory (ATML). Finally uncertainty budget estimation has been included in order to summarize the work. It is expected that the potential user will have a better understanding of the error and uncertainty during antenna testing and measurements. Presented report is an attempt to fulfill the requirement of the ISO/IEC 17,025:2017 international standards, which are to be maintained while antenna is tested and measured within standard microwave laboratory.
