Abstract
Purpose As natural resources deplete so quickly, switching from a linear perspective to a circular one is becoming more critical. Although there has been some theoretical discussion about this recently, little has been revealed about how it should be applied to actual problems. Research shows that firms implementing a circular economy must change (upgrade) their supply chains and business models. Priority selection is one area that firms must consider while implementing circular economy practices. Against this backdrop, finding the rank preference is of paramount importance. Design/Methodology/Approach A thorough literature search and expert consultation created a definitive list of fifteen enablers and circular practices. We employ the Multi-Criteria decision-making technique (VIKOR and TOPSIS) to evaluate and rank (most minor and most effective) the primary circular techniques in light of emerging countries like India. Findings Findings show that awareness among consumers is one of the most essential practices to adopt. Practical Implications The paper's primary contributions are the circular economy supply chain practices and the MCDM-based ranking of the best and worst circular economy practices. The output of the study may be generalized to add value to the existing literature and adopt circular economy practices under sustainability within a multi-criteria decision-making framework. Originality/Value The study examines the most significant circular economy practices (priority selection and ranking) using MCDM instead of linear production and economics from an Indian point of view.
