Features of competition in the pawnshop market

Abstract

In modern Russia, pawnshops are recognized as a socially important part of the financial system of the country, since 2014 this market segment is under the direct supervision of the Bank of Russia. But there are still many myths, stereotypes and misconceptions inherent in the unscientific approach to microfinance of Russian citizens on the security of movable property. At the same time, Lombard business is moving forward in accordance with the latest technical innovations and business trends, subject to General economic theory. In the article, the author tried to reveal the main issues of the structure of this market and the relationship between the participants, identified current business models, segmented by global criteria, identified the core of the market and formalized its role in the development strategy of all participants. The indicators of market concentration are calculated, the competitive environment is characterized, analogies with the market of microfinance organizations are carried out. The data of the Bank of Russia, the Federal tax service, various systems and portals, expert opinions are used as an information base.
