Abstract

Basketball is a high-intensity team sport that requires a combination of aerobic endurance, anaerobic power, muscular strength, agility, coordination, and cognitive performance. The physical demands of basketball necessitate appropriate nutritional strategies to optimize athletic performance, accelerate recovery, prevent injuries, and maintain long-term health. Nutrition has become an integral component of sports science, and its role in basketball has gained increasing attention among coaches, athletes, sports physicians, and researchers. This study investigates the significance of nutrition in basketball performance by examining the effects of macronutrients, micronutrients, hydration, meal timing, and recovery nutrition on athletes. The research utilizes a comprehensive review of scientific literature, sports nutrition guidelines, and empirical studies related to basketball performance.
