Las brechas del cancer entre Mexico y Estados Unidos

Abstract

Se miden las “brechas del cancer†entre Estados Unidos y Mexico, con el fin de identificar sesgos conductuales, causas de las diferencias y ambitos de mejora. Se emplean datos estatales para cuatro decadas, 31 tipos de cancer (para 22 hay variables de riesgo), en seis metricas (mortalidad, prevalencia, incidencia, y anos de vida perdidos por discapacidad, muerte y total). Estados Unidos tiene tasas de mortalidad mas elevadas que Mexico en general y por neoplasias. El analisis de regresion indica que no considerar los factores de riesgo (ademas de la demografia) genera sesgos importantes en la medicion.
