Movilidad intergeneracional de la educación en México: un análisis de cohortes filiales y sexo

Abstract

Empleando la encuesta ESRU-EMOVI 2011, este trabajo documenta tendencias en la movilidad intergeneracional de la educación en México. Los hallazgos principales son: (1) una reducción entre las cohortes más jóvenes de las diferencias entre las matrices de transición masculinas (padre-hijo) y femeninas (madre-hija); y (2) un aumento monotónico en los tres significados de movilidad intergeneracional identificados por van de Gaer et al. (2001) (es decir, movilidad como movimiento, como igualdad de oportunidades, y como igualdad de chances en la vida), común a las matrices masculinas y femeninas, cuando pasamos de cohortes mayores a más jóvenes.
