Corporate Social Responsibility and the Paradigm of the State: Critical Perspective and Social Evidence in Philosophical Approach

Since the last years the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility has become a theoretical framework for enteprises, according to the shared assumption that the economy has to consider some social and ethical aspects in their businesses, wspecially the value of the environment and the expectations of stakeholders. In this approach, it is possible to link CSR with other research field, as the “well-being economy”, the theory of information and overcome of “utilitarianism” in economy. At the same time, the concept of the State is evilved, mainly with regard to some ethical aspects also according to the concept of “eitizenship”: in this sense, we can identify in the public context a significant evolution from the New Public Management to the Public Value, both in terms of theory and practice. With a suitable review of the literature, the aim of this research is to make a comparison between these two research fields (CSR theory and the evolution of the paradigm of the State), especially in the light of European Union context, also according to a philosophical approach, to show some criticism and new possibilities of research.
