Abstract

The article is dedicated to the estimation of directions, scope and consequences of the influence of the recent socio-economic transformation on the effectiveness of health sector in Ukraine. Basic assumptions of public policy in the health care and problems of its operation are discussed in the article. Resources and activities of health care service are analysed in a time-space framework. The accessibility of health care in Ukraine, particularly its limits due to the financial reasons, has been dealt with separately. The author proves that the new conditions of socio-economic development in Ukraine resulted, to a large extent, in a deterioration of effectiveness of the Ukrainian health care service as well as a deterioration of its accessibility for inhabitants of Ukraine.
