Abstract

The publication presents the problem of managing an organization during its critical periods. Various kinds of management have been distinguished, including change management, with consideration given to selected models of changes in an enterprise, crisis management included, among others. The paper presents and analyzes findings of the research carried out by various research centres, both Polish and foreign ones, with regards to enterprise sectors in Poland by their size classes, namely the SME sector and the large enterprise sector. In the synthetic representation, the author presents changes in the activities of enterprises during the global economic crisis as indicated by entrepreneurs, and undertaken strategic ventures with the indication of occurring tendencies in their functioning and adopted financial and investment strategies.
