Abstract

The following study presents a multi-criteria comparative analysis of Polish voivodships in terms of the impact of the economic and institutional incentive system on the development of Knowledge-Based Economy (KBE) in 2009–2016. The value of the synthetic index was determined using the TOPSIS method, voivodships were classified and their ranking was created. The results of the study show a good direction of KBE development in the area of the researched pillar. Also presented are the maps showing changes in the synthetic index for individual provinces for the representative years 2009, 2012 and 2016.
