Abstract

Social media are used today to share information not only within a group of friends, but they can also be used for two-way communication between a local government and the residents. Using this tool in a municipality can result in strengthening the local bonds in a significant manner and it can become a way of gathering information and opinions from people. It can be an important source of information on matters related to the region. The article presents a typology of content based on six categories: receiver stakeholder groups, the time of the events described, timeliness and relevance of information, the nature of information, the scope of information.
