Los niveles de vida del campesinado en la España contemporánea. Algunas reflexiones

Abstract

Communications presented at VIII SEHA congress (Salamanca, 1997) here are analysed in the session dealing with peasantry living standard determinants in Ihe contemporary Spain. The discussion focused on Ihe methodological problems associated with criteria of measurement and living standard estimation, in particular, the possibilities and imitations that agricultural salaries offer real wage and cost of living index elaboration series, consumption and stature are discussed due to their importance on' standard of living estimations. The necessity lo approach this topic starting from synthetic parameters with relevant analytical capacity is suggested and the limitations of qualitative estimations emphasized. Finally living standards determinants are discussed.
