Las políticas de regadíos en los países del Magreb dentro de las estrategias de desarrollo agrario

Abstract

In this article, I expound the most important aspects of the policy of irrigation land and hydraulic building in the countries of North Africa: Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. I give a broad outline of Maghribian policy within the strategy of economic and social development that the governments of the region executed from the 1950s to the 1990s. In addition, I analyse the political and economic reasons to explain the magnitude of irrigation programme in Morocco, principally the question of the construction of big dams, and the Algerian slovenliness concerning this subject. Tunisia chooses a system between Morocco and Algeria. Also, I list in detail the capital investment in hydraulic building in relation to general budget of the each development plan in every countru. Finally, I express the global significance of the irrigation land’s policy in the Maghribian region.
