El Ciclo De La Desigualdad Salarial Y El Papel Del Mercado De La Vivienda

Abstract

En el caso de España, el aumento y posterior disminución en la demanda de trabajadores de la construcción ha tenido un gran impacto no sólo en el empleo sino también en la desigualdad salarial. De hecho, la evolución de la desigualdad salarial en las últimas décadas ha sido fuertemente contracíclica: se incrementó alrededor de la recesión de 1993, después experimentó una disminución significativa durante la expansión de 1997 a 2007, para volver a crecer con fuerza durante la más reciente crisis. El aspecto más destacado de esta evolución no es que la magnitud de las variaciones sea tan elevada, sino que la evolución se produzca en paralelo con los movimientos de la tasa de desempleo.
