La Estructura Espacial De Galicia. Análisis A Partir Del Cálculo De Los Potenciales De Mercado A Nivel Comarca, 1991-2016

Abstract

En este artículo se analiza la distribución espacial de la actividad económica en las comarcas de Galicia a través del cálculo del potencial de mercado de Harris (1954) y los índices de Gini y curvas de Lorenz asociadas. Los resultados del análisis muestran un claro patrón centro-periferia en la distribución de la actividad económica que en el caso de Galicia se convierte en un patrón occidente-oriente. Este patrón tiene una alta coincidencia con el trazado que dibuja la autopista A-9 que cruza Galicia de norte a sur, desde Ferrol en la parte noroccidental de Galicia en la provincia de A Coruña a Vigo en la parte suroccidental en la provincia de Pontevedra. Esta área que comúnmente se conoce como la dorsal atlántica es el área que, excluyendo las ciudades de Lugo y Ourense, concentra un mayor dinamismo tanto en términos de actividad económica como en relación con la concentración de población.
