Abstract

The organizational commitment is a construct of great interest to companies, given the relationship between this and other organizational performance indicators, such as productivity, the level of absenteeism and turnover, job stress and customer satisfaction. This importance is still higher, in a crisis situation where the current indicators are essential to the success of organizations in general and hotel sin particular, characterized by intensive contact with customers. This article aims to develop knowledge on the organizational commitment of employees in the hotel industry (specifically in the city of Córdoba province) and its relationship with certain personal variables of these. In this sense, there is a linear and clearly progressive relationship with the age of workers and an inverse relationship with the level of education of them. Thus it is intended that through better knowledge of this construct the hotel managers understand the importance of its development and make it a goal in the different areas of influence of human capital.
