Abstract

Сизых Анастасия Дмитриевна - студентка 1-го курса магистратуры Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba, стажер-исследователь Института статистических исследований и экономики знаний НИУ ВШЭ. E-mail: anastasia.sizykh@gmail.comЦель работы - изучение карьерных траекторий и мотивации как потенциальных преподавателей и исследователей (аспирантов), так и тех, кто уже работает в университете (профессорско-преподавательский состав). Проведено 27 полуструктурированных интервью в трех российских вузах и одном канадском университете. Для российских вузов выявлены три типа академических карьер, особенности которых обсуждаются применительно к проблемам утечки и старения кадров и совершенствования условий труда. Показано, что мотивация обучения в аспирантуре помимо интереса к науке имеет своим источником мнение значимых других, стремление повысить статус для продвижения по неакадемической карьерной лестнице, а для мужчин также желание избежать службы в армии. Очевидный фактор недовольства сотрудников университета условиями труда - низкая заработная плата не является единственным минусом академической среды как места работы. Восприятие академическими сотрудниками в России и Канаде позитивных и негативных сторон работы в университете имеет мало общего и является, скорее, специфичным для каждой страны.
