Abstract

A number of approaches to the justification of income differences in different occupations are analyzed. The lack of unambiguous understanding of the fair criteria for income differences is highlighted, which is confirmed by the results of the empirical study. It is suggested that for assessing the activity content of different jobs and more equitable remuneration, both complete systems of differentiation criteria and partial systems that take into account the specifics of labor in particular organizations should be used. Prospects for and possible difficulties in a fair assessment and differentiation of incomes are considered in relation to the activities of public employees.
