Abstract

One of the most important factors ensuring the development and stability of the Russian financial market is the conversion of people’s savings to a source of additional investments into the Russian economy along with improvement of the level and quality of the living standards. The purpose of the study was to review current trends and specifics of the investment behavior of Russian individual investors and identify factors of potential growth of personal investments in financial market tools. The paper investigates the current state of the collective investment industry and analyzes interim results of the introduction of individual investment accounts. It is concluded that a unified strategy for attracting household funds should be developed in parallel with boosting the process of creating new types of investment products that meet the needs of numerous investors under conditions of greater interaction between the regulator and professional financial market players.
