Abstract

The paper discusses the development trends of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) related to the functioning of the Customs Union of the EAEU member states, the coordinated macroeconomic policy and the solution of monetary integration problems. The specific features of the services sales regulation and the investment activity within the internal EAEU market are highlighted. The nature of the Eurasian integration as compared to the Western European integration implemented within the European Union is analyzed; the contents and application scopes of the financial and economic indices adequate for joining the Euro Area countries (the Maastricht criteria) as well as indices determining the sustainability of the economic development of the EAEU members are compared.
