Abstract

The paper considers the possibility of using gravity models in retail trade. The purpose of work is to identify areas of application of gravity models to ensure customer orientation of the retail trade. It addresses the issue of evolution of customer orientation theories, reveals peculiarities of the retail market, and the difficulties faced by retailers when implementing their activities. The paper gives the definitions of such terms as “customer orientation”, “gravity models” as well as a brief description of popular models along with examples of their application. The author put forward suggestions on using gravity models as a tool to ensure customer orientation in the retail trade. Рассматривается возможность применения гравитационных моделей в розничной торговле. Целью работы является выявление областей применения гравитационных моделей для ориентации розничной торговли на клиента. Затрагивается проблема эволюции теорий ориентации на клиента, рассматриваются специфика рынка розничной торговли, а также трудности, с которыми сталкиваются розничные торговцы при реализации своей деятельности. Даны определения ориентации на клиента, гравитационных моделей, приведены описания популярных моделей, а также примеры их применения. Делаются предложения об использовании гравитационных моделей в качестве инструмента ориентации розничной торговли на клиента.
