Directions of preservation and development of intellectual capital of railway transport

Abstract

The recognition of intellectual capital as the main asset, capable of ensuring the accomplishment of the mission and objectives of the enterprise, creation of long-term competitive advantages, caused a necessity of paying attention to the content of this economic category. The article explores the nature of «intellectual capital», the basic approaches to the interpretation of this economic category and installed its main elements. Determined that the intellectual capital of railway transport consists of human and structural capital, and in its basis are the knowledge, skills, experience and creativity of railway men. It is established that among the main reasons that may cause the loss of accumulated intellectual capital industry, and therefore negatively affect the competitiveness of the sector, is to implement a policy of optimization of the level of labor costs of personnel through introduction of compulsory leave without preservation of wage and non-observance of norms of the labor legislation.
