Assessment of major factors of food security

Abstract

The analysis of the food security index and its correlation with foreign trade liberalization degree, as well as correlation with GDP per capita and the level of agriculture is carried out in this article. The authors came to the conclusions that the foreign trade liberalization level and economic growth play special role for ensuring food security. As well as there is no need to choose the agrarian sector as a strategic priority for ensuring food security if the country has no competitive advantage in this sector in the globalization condition.
