Abstract

The advantages and disadvantages of the WTO membership for developed and developing countries are discussed. It is shown that the WTO along with the IMF and the World Bank actually defend the interests of transnational companies. The paper analyzes the WTO rules that are shown to narrow down the boundaries of sovereignty of developing countries being WTO members, legally reduce less developed countries to specialization in the production of low value-added products and restrain their economic development
