О Роли Ислама В Исторических Судьбах Татарского Народа

Abstract

Статья посвящена проблеме соотношения этнической и конфессиональной (мусульманской) идентичности татар. Анализ ведется в историческом ракурсе. Резюмируется, что социальное явление, выражаемое сочетанием «татарство-мусульманство», подверглось естественно-историческим изменениям, итоговым результатом которых стало превращение религии ислама из дела нации в дело совести и выбора каждого индивида. Автор опровергает распространенный тезис о прямой связи существования татарской нации с исламом.
