Abstract

Permanent providing of the population of the country with the basic food products is a pledge of social and political stability in the society. To support this process, the Government system of planning and forecasting is required. Strategic forecasting for the food complex in the country scale is rather complex problem, as many factors have to be considered. The authors offer to apply simulation modeling for forecasting. They developed a model of the food provision in the region. The model is based on the balance equation and allows to find a balance between food production and consumption in the region. The model offered by authors allows to optimise regional output and export-import flows of food products.
