Abstract

Since the beginning of the 1990s, Chinas consumption and import of oil have been growing rapidly. Russia has become one of the leading supplier of crude oil into the Chinese market. Currently, a major constrain to raise a volume of oil shipments towards China has been an absence of a pipeline infrastructure in the Eastern Russia. The further growth of the Russias oil exports to China is closely connected with construction of the Taishet Pacific pipeline and a spur towards the Russian Chinese border. Meanwhile, the Chinese companies are getting an access to exploration of the Russian oil and gas fields. However, due to existence of a Chinas threat factor in the Eastern Russia, China hardly will be allowed to get an access to large strategic oilfields in the Russian territory.
