The concept of social country, models of social counties as well as types of social security on the example of the EU countries have been studied including, on the normative level, the history of social security instrtute establishment in Ukraine as well as its prospects have been described. Розглянуто поняття соціальної держави, моделі соціальнихдержав та види соціального захисту на прикладі країн ЄС,в т.ч. на нормативному рівні, історію становлення інститутусоціального захисту в Україні та окреслено його перспективи.
