A banking system is one of the key elements of a financial market of any country. Effectiveness and functional orientation of a banking system provide continuous and targeted financial resources flowing between different sectors of economy and this allows to perform economic activities of various entities. Thus, a banking system plays an essential role in the formation of market relations. A question of stable functioning of a banking system can be defined as a key one.The basic task is to improve the management of a banking system by achieving its stability. The disclosure of formalized description of the definition of tools to influence the selection procedure for ensuring stability of a banking system should be determined as the primary objective.For reaching the goal a comparative study has been introduced and generalized concerning the concept definition of «banking system» and the ideology of its management according to the circumstances and factors of influence. The combination of individual components is to determine the instruments of influence on the banking system activity in the form of chain ties.On the base of the analysis carried out the article grounds the necessity of the generalized use of formalized description of the procedures for selecting instruments for ensuring stability of a banking system. For the purpose of this procedure the author has also grounded, determined and disclosed some of its components. To implement the relevant qualitative phase of formalization the author has proposed the use of chain patterns, and to quantify the individual parameters of such a procedure the methodology of border stochastic analysis has been offered.As a scientific novelty of the present research it is necessary to note the qualitative and quantitative phases for formal presentation of describing procedures for the selection of tools to ensure banking system stability as well as the introduction of chain schemes for the disclosure of such a procedure as a whole Банківська система є одним з ключових елементів фінансового ринку будь-якої країни. Дієвість та функціональна спрямованість банківської системи забезпечує безперервний та цілеспрямований перетік фінансових ресурсів між окремими секторами економіки, що дозволяє здійснювати економічну діяльність різноманітним суб’єктам господарювання. Відтак банківська система має суттєве значення у формуванні ринкових взаємовідносин. А питання стабільного функціонування банківської системи можна визначити як ключове.Беручи за основу вдосконалення управління банківською системою завдяки досягненню її стабільності як головну мету, слід визначити розкриття формалізованого опису із визначення процедури відбору інструментів впливу щодо забезпечення стабільності банківської системи.Для розкриття поставленої мети дослідження упроваджено метод порівняльного узагальнення до визначення змістовності поняття «банківська система» та ідеології її управління відповідно до наявних умов та факторів впливу. Зазначено поєднання окремих складових з визначення інструментів впливу на діяльність банківської системи у вигляді ланцюжкових зв’язків.На підставі проведеного аналізу в роботі обґрунтовано доцільність застосування формалізованого опису узагальненої процедури відбору інструментів для забезпечення стабільності банківської системи. З метою проведення такої процедури обґрунтовано, визначено та розкрито окремі її складові. Для здійснення якісного етапу відповідної формалізації запропоновано застосування ланцюжкових схем, а для кількісного визначення окремих параметрів такої процедури – методологію аналізу стохастичними границями.Як наукову новизну даної роботи слід визначити виокремлення якісного та кількісного етапу щодо формалізованого подання опису процедури відбору інструментів для забезпечення стабільності банківської системи, а також упровадження ланцюжкових схем для розкриття такої процедури в цілому.
