Abstract

The success of Thailand in agriculture and rural development is said to be the result of commitment of government leaders, innovation, and efficiency that lead to productivity, competitiveness, and prosperity; technology transfer that has been mainly private-sector driven; clear and simple policy; and human resources. With regards to human resources, the universities are deemed as the largest contributor to agricultural and rural development (ARD) in this Asian country.Â
