Abstract

Simplistically put, E-Commerce means selling of products/services on the net a practice which has existed at least for the last two decades in the form of fax or phone. This is distinctly a post-Y2K focus. Merill Lynch proclaimed that on the IT front they would essentially cue in on E-Commerce for the economy of scales. Forrester research foresees the B2B potential hovering around US $ 842 Billion by 2002. The phenomenal growth of Commerce has been due to the customer satisfaction. It has had its inimitable impact on the 4 Ps of marketing. -Commerce in short has multidimensional potential. It is bound to have a telling effect on the pricing policies through the Webster listings. The futuristic growth of Ecommerce in India too is beyond doubt. The various aspects have to be harmonised and synchronised with the various situations. Sincere and careful analysis is required to encash the forthcoming opportunities.
