Managing Performance Through Excellence

Abstract

The present paper contends that it is the organization's focus on the critical aspects such as leadership, organizations culture, strategy, and HRD which results in excellent performance. The paper reemphasizes that leadership is considered to be the most influential factor contributing to the performance of excellent organizations whereas Organisation Culture, is the source of behavioural and functional patterns in an organization and determines the performance and productivity of the organization. Strategy outlines the organizations' goals and the means for attaining these goals. Whereas HRD plays a facilitating role in improving performance of an organization through Performance Appraisals, Training and Development, Feedback and Counselling and Career Planning and Development.
