Abstract

This study attempts to extend to the question of political liberty a cross-time analytical approach already successfully applied to conflict. In the previous study, increases in quality of life were associated with reduced conflict. Here, increases in quality of life are predicted to be associated with extensions of political liberty. The research results in fact support this interpretation.
