Abstract

China and India are both countries with expanding energy demands, but with inadequate energy resources at home to meet their requirements. This situation has threatened their energy security and economic security. Sino-Indian cooperation on the energy front is one way to ease the problem for both sides. This has begun to pick up, although as yet only at a slow pace. Given the increasing trend towards greater bilateral, regional and multilateral integration, and given the overall improvement in Sino-Indian relations in recent years, there are good prospects for enhanced cooperation between China and India in the sphere of energy.
