Business Portfolio Planning at Roland Construction Company Limited

Abstract

This case is developed in the context of infrastructure construction business in India and provides an insight into different sectors of infrastructure. It involves appraising the business environment, SWOT analysis and development of Environmental Threat Opportunity Profile. It also involves application of the BCG growth-share matrix and GE 9 Cell Matrix models for project portfolio management and decision regarding the entry into a new infrastructure construction business. It also brings out the differences between the two models vis-Ã -vis subjectivity, simplicity, holistic view and their applicability.
