Abstract

Direct investments involve long-term investment relationships between entities resident and non-resident entities that typically involves the exercise by investors of significant management influence in companies in which they invested. Components of foreign direct investments (FDI) are: holdings in the capital of non-resident investors who own at least 10 percent of the issued share capital of resident enterprises, reinvested by them, as well as the nature of the debt instruments (e.g. credits) of investors or a group of which they are part of it and businesses in which they invested. Gross domestic product (GDP, shorthand) is a macroeconomic indicator that reflects the market value of the sum of all goods and services intended for final consumption, produced in all branches of the economy within a country within a year. It can be calculated and at the level of regions or localities.
