Abstract

Last year, the government decided to increase VAT in order to soar the incomes for the State budget. Consequently, this measure is meant to comply with the budgetary deficit of 6,8%. negotiated with IMF. The decision was made after the Constitutional Court rejected the diminishment of pensions by 15% and the Romanian authorities claimed that VAT increase will support this measure.
