The Objectives of Financial Education in the Area of Supplementary Pension

Abstract

In the past years, the issue of financial literacy has got into the limelight of governments, financial institutions, political parties, mass media, sociologists and other entities. Many documents focused on the issues of financial education have been approved. In the Czech Republic, one of the essential documents is Systém budování finanÄ ní gramotnosti na základních a stÅ™edních Å¡kolách (The system of development of financial literacy at primary and secondary schools) that defines financial literacy standards for various degrees of schools. These standards have been implemented into the curricular documents of the Czech educational system, which are framing educational programmes for particular degrees and types of schools. This article deals with one of financial products, which is a part of the financial literacy standards designed for secondary schools, i.e. contributory pension scheme.
