Digital transformation of the banking sector at the strategic level

Abstract

Introduction. Digital transformation is a fundamental change in the approach to organizing the banking business, customer service and risk management. In this regard, digital transformation leads to both positive and negative consequences. Distinguishing between these consequences is necessary for the formation of effective strategies for the digitalization of banking business processes, as well as risk management strategies. The first step towards the formation of these strategies is to identify trends in the digital transformation of the banking sector at the strategic level. Thus, the relevance of this topic is due to the need to form new digitalization strategies for the banking business. Purpose. To identify positive trends in the digital transformation of the banking sector at the strategic level and significant threats arising from an increase in the level of digitalization of banking business processes. Methods. The following methods were used in the study: statistical methods, comparative analysis, survey, benchmarking, Saaty hierarchy analysis method. Results. A general strategy for the digitalization of banking business processes has been developed. Conclusions. The author concludes that today the optimal strategy for managing risks arising in the process of digitalization of banking processes is the transition to cloud technologies.
