Abstract

The authors of the work note that the changing social reality contributes to the fact that modern young people become one of the interested participants in the ongoing social processes and events. The social activity of young people is particularly recorded during the period of their education, since the capabilities of Russian universities allow young people to actively express themselves in various fields: educational, scientific, social, sports, cultural and mass. The authors point out that the participation of students in volunteer movements affects the overall level of social activity. Participation in volunteer activities allows young people to accumulate various general cultural and professional competencies, expand social ties, interact with a group of like-minded people, self-actualize and show creativity.
